Abstract

The Board of Trustees Records include the records of the Board of Trustees of Colorado Seminary, an entity created by Legislative Charter in 1864 which holds legal title to University property, and the Board of Trustees of the University of Denver, the corporation that grants degrees earned in the University. It also includes minutes, associated documents of committees of the boards, and reports to the board.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The materials in this collection document the professional life of R. Russell Porter while he was a member of the faculty of the University of Denver, from 1946 until his retirement in 1976. Administrative materials provide a chronological framework for the artistic works that follow. They include biographies, obituaries, press releases and newspaper clippings, faculty personnel records and evaluations, insurance packages, travel records, brochures, personal papers, interviews, photographs...

Most of the records consist of letters, educational materials, bulletins and published newspaper accounts of activities by world-wide, national and local groups on behalf of Soviet Jews. Rhoda Friedman collected most of this material. The Records also have scrapbooks about Lillian Hoffman.

Western Union Telegram from Henry, 1947 June 11

Western Union telegram from Henry Lowenstein to his family at 924 Cemetery Street in Williamsport, Pa. Message says "Sailing tomorrow Marine Falcon expect to arrive 20 June Love to all -Henry." Telegram message is pasted on the on the the official Western Union form.
