Abstract

Benjamin Levand was in the real estate business in Denver and died in 1932. Three of his sons became owners and publishers of the Wichita Beacon newspaper. One of Benjamin's sons, John Levand, organized 250 Denver Post newsboys to advertise and attend a melodrama at the Curtis Theater in 1908

The Levitt children are standing in front of their brick home at 15th street and Dale Court in Denver, Colorado. In the back row from left to right are Morris (Moshe) Levitt, Tillie Levitt (Tein), and Mary Levitt (Rubanowitz). In the front row from left to right are Anne Levitt (Marcus), Edward Levitt, and Dorothy Levitt (Cohen). The children's' parents were Isadore and Yetta Prezant Levitt who settled in the Eastern European Jewish neighborhood around West Colfax Avenue.
