Samuel and Sarah Rosenberg
Sam Rosenberg was a founder of the West Colfax Loan Corporation, and he and Sarah ran Rosenberg's Mercantile and Deli, located on West Colfax Ave. and Hooker Street (2731 W. Colfax and later 3200 W. Colfax). They were active in Zera Israel Synagogue. Sam was also one of the founders of the Chevra Kadishim Burial Society. .Earlier, as a soldier in the Russo-Japanese war, Sam was taken prisoner and sent to Manchuria. Sam died in 1943; Sarah died in 1952.
Samuel Bernstein Family Papers
Russian born Samuel D. Bernstein married Lena and had, possibly, seven children: Aron, Harry, Morris, Rose, Bernie Moses, and Shirley; though the census records are confusing. Samuel worked in livestock, hides and wool. Collection contains a draft of “Our Pioneers,” and papers related to the Samuel Bernstein Family from 1980 through 2000 including a brief family tree chart.

Samuel Krone Salting Meat at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society, circa 1941
Samuel Krone salting meat at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). All of the food served to the patients at the JCRS was kosher. Rev. Krone served as the mashgiach at the Sanatorium for over 18 years. The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. The sanatorium was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside of Denver.

Samuel Ralph Freeman Memoir
Samuel Ralph Freeman was a lawyer originally from New York. He was assistant to the Colorado Attorney General from 1955-1958, Vice President of the Denver Rio Grande Railroad and later as the assistant to the chancellor at the University of Denver. He was also president of B’nai B’rith. Collection contains memoirs written by Samuel Freeman related Samuel Ralph from 1929 through 2003.
