Abstract Professor Howe's diary for 1880 recounts his brief weather and astronomical observations, teaching activities at the University of Denver, participation in events in University Park and elsewhere in Denver, his family and religious life. Howe accepted an appointment to teach mathematics and astronomy at the University of Denver beginning in the fall. At the end of the book there is a monthly Cash Account where Professor Howe records some of his spending.
