Oberfelder Concert Series and Family Papers

Abstract

Pioneer impresario Arthur M. Oberfelder came to Denver in 1913 and by 1917 had started his own concert management company. He started the Concert Under the Stars at Red Rocks and was responsible for bringing many entertainment groups to Denver. Collection contains invitations, programs, news clippings, portraits, certificates, photographs, scrapbooks, and autograph books related to the Oberfelder family and the Oberfelder Concert series from 1924 through 1978.

Abstract

Women patients receiving occupational therapy in the form of needlework or knitting at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. The sanatorium was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside of Denver.
