Alta Merle Ricks Papers

Abstract

Alta Merle Ricks (1905-2005) was a benefactress for the Ricks School of Gifted Children.Her generosity supported the Ricks Center building project and an endowment fund. She was a regular visitor to the school and attended many events. This collection contains items collected and created by Ricks, unconnected to the school, including family photographs, personal paintings, and various trophies and awards.

Abstract Album of 125 mounted photographs from Switzerland, France, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Italy, 54 relating to winter sports in St. Moritz. Other scenes include yachting in Cannes, holidays in Rome, Castel Gandolfo and Peruga. The sequence begins in the winter of 1908-1909, and ends in July 1911.
