Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society
Biography
The Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society (RMJHS) was established in 1976 to promote and sponsor historical activity related to the Jewish experience in the Rocky Mountain region. The Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado partners with the RMJHS and Ira M. Beck and Perle Hayutin Beck Memorial Archives of Rocky Mountain Jewish History to publicize and preserve the Jewish history of the Rocky Mountain region. The first director was Belle Marcus and Dr. Jeanne E. Abrams became the director in 1982. The Beck Archives became a fully integrated part of University of Denver Penrose Library (now University Libraries) Special Collections and Archives in 1995.

Beck Archives Photograph Collection
The Beck Archives Photograph Collection contains photographs, negatives, and other materials which reflect the rich, varied, and vibrant Jewish experience in the Rocky Mountain region, with a special emphasis on Colorado. It also contains some photographs from other states and countries.
Box 29: Colorado Jewish History Week, May 25-31, 1992, 1991 - 1993
Box contains eight file folders related to Colorado Jewish History Week, which took place May 25-31, 1992. Topics include publicity, correspondence, general documents, income and finances, contracts, scholar-in-residence, May 31st dinner, and agency fair/history week Shabbat. The box also contains the book produced for the week, A Colorado Jewish Family Album 1859-1992, and sample versions to demonstrate full page/half page advertisements.
