Biography

Central City Opera House is given to the University of Denver by the McFarlane family in 1932 (Ida Kruse McFarlane, Professor of English at DU, good friends with Anne Evans). The CCOHA was administered as a non-profit corporation during this time.

Black and white photograph of Helen Keller at age 8 and 80. Caption on photograph reads, 'This outstaning American proved that determination and courage can overcome and obstacle. Her story is excitingly told in William Gibson's stage play, THE MIRACLE WORKER, due here this season.' The theater piece 'The Miracle Worker' was part of the 1961 central City Opera House festival.
