Ben Eastman for Colorado Reflections
Ben Eastman reflects on his life on the Western Slope and his time spent as an apple grower in Hotchkiss, Colorado. Discusses the history of the Western Slope, the mining and agriculture industries, and the history of Native Americans in the area, Utes in particular. Eastman discusses specifics of apple growing, including varieties of apples, land management, planting, harvesting, and hybridization.

Dearfield is considered a "Black town" because of the migration of African Americans out of the south and into the West.
