Biography
Pearl Kaplan Herman is the daughter of Nathan and Anna Kaplan, Jewish immigrants from Bialystock, Poland. The Kaplans were the only Jewish family in the small town of Rocky Ford. Her sister, Elsa Kaplan Tobin (21 April 1913 - 15 October 1991), married Lou Tobin, who founded Tobin's Pharmacy in Denver. Pearl married David Herman who worked in the pharmacy. She died in Redondo Beach, Los Angeles, California, at the age of 91.
