Biography

Eleanor Gorden Yale was the wife of Charles Yale, founder of Yale Drug. The two met when a college classmate introduced them, while Eleanor was visiting Chicago with some friends. After a long-distance courtship, the two married on April 14, 1940. She then moved to Chicago, IL from Denver, CO. In the late 1940s, however, Charles' business was destroyed in a fire, and the two moved to Denver. Eleanor worked in Yale Drug for some time, with all of their children working there for a time as well.
