This collection contains the personal papers of Janine Gastineau, a dance critic. The collection in large part is made up of newspaper clippings of articles written by Gastineau and informational packets on various dance troupes and companies. Also included in the collection is research performed by Gastineau and her co-author Frank Ferguson for a book on Vera-Ellen, a famous musical actress from the 1950s. This book was apparently never completed.

Series 1 contains copies of articles written by Janine Gastineau, with some articles written by others. Also included in this series are informational packets on various dance troupes, companies, shows, and events that Janine wrote on or participated in.
