Abstract

This collection contains the personal papers of Janine Gastineau, a dance critic. The collection in large part is made up of newspaper clippings of articles written by Gastineau and informational packets on various dance troupes and companies. Also included in the collection is research performed by Gastineau and her co-author Frank Ferguson for a book on Vera-Ellen, a famous musical actress from the 1950s. This book was apparently never completed.

Biographical / Historical

Janine Gastineau has been a freelance dance critic and dance journalist since 2003. In 2006, she began her solo music career and released her first solo album called All My Wildest Dreams in 2015. From 2016-2018, she attended the University of Denver and received her Master's degree in Music, Jazz Performance, and Voice. She has written hundreds of articles about dance shows, troupes, events, and companies throughout the years.
