Abstract

Letter from F. Taussig to C.D. Spivak. Taussig tells Spivak that the Jewish Aid Society of Chicago has been making arrangements for the return of Fanny Reeder from the sanatorium in Denver. Taussig also says that Spivak can send Reeder whenever she is ready, but Taussig wants Spivak to let her know when Reeder is on her way. Taussig thanks Spivak for taking an interest in her case.

Letter from H. Schwatt to C.D. Spivak. Schwatt tells Spivak the Fanny Reeder asked him for an extension of her stay at JCRS. Schwatt states that if there is not a great pressure for vacancies amongst women at the sanatorium, Schwatt recommends that Reeder be given an extension of her stay.

Delson tells Spivak that he is only a little sad because there are so many people sick with consumption in Chicago who are unable to receive an invitation to JCRS. Delson also comments that the United States has such a vast area with favorable climate to benefit those suffering from tuberculosis, but it is a shame that the government will not fund...

Letter from P. Hillkowitz, President of JCRS to F. Taussig. Hillkowitz copied a statement from H. Schwatt that explains Reeder’s condition and why it would be best for her to remain in Denver. Hillkowitz continues to quote from Schwatt that Reeder would not be able to work in Denver or Chicago as well.
