Chapman, Gerald

Es'kia Mphahlele was an English professor, writer, and PhD student at the University of Denver from 1966-1968. Mphahlele is often noted at the founder of the African Humanist movement. This collection contains correspondences with various colleagues, employment and academic information, and drafts of his writings.

This collection contains the personal research, writing, class materials, and correspondances of the late English professor Gerald Chapman. Chapman was the chair of University of Denver's English department from 1962 to 2003. The vast majority of materials come from Chapman's time at University of Denver and his time as a doctoral student at Harvard University.
