Biography
Joseph and Lena Zelinger were the parents of Lena Zelinger. Brunetta and Lena arrived in the United States in June of 1855. Joseph Zelinger was an early freighter in Denver. Lena married Dr. John Elsner in Denver, Colorado in 1867. Their daughter Rosalinde was born in 1867 and some 15 years later the Elsners adopted Edward, the youngest member of a theatrical troupe passing through Denver. Lena was active in Denver's Jewish and secular communities. Lena died in Denver on November 29, 1929.

Abstract
The file contains newspaper clippings about the Elsner mansion on Denver's Governors Row. The home had been built by wealthy Jewish merchant Wolfe Londoner The Elsners gave lavish dinners for the cream of Denver society, politicians, celebrities, artists and musicians. The Elsners were early patrons of the arts and many of the guests were from the theater.
