Biography
Rabbi Charles Eliezer Hillel Kauvar (1879-1971) was a Denver-based rabbi who was instrumental in founding and sustaining many Jewish Denver organizations, including the Intermountain Jewish News. He was Colorado's second rabbi to hold a university chair, and served as president of the United Synagogue of America.

Leah Eisen's Wedding Dress
Collection consists of wedding dress worn by Leah Silverberg Eisen on her marriage to Samuel Eisen, Jr. January 23, 1921. The were married in Denver by Rabbi Kauvar.

Cream-colored silk satin wedding dress with, cummerbund waistline, short ruched lace sleeves and ankle length skirt. Skirt has two tiers of lace on front lower portion. Bodice has deep-V cut front backed with lace panels; left side of bodice is covered in lace while right side is silk satin. Clear and pewter/bronze beading along V-neck, cuffs and back of bodice.
