Abstract

The newspaper articles, photographs, objects and LP records illustrate the life of a Jewish family in the western United States. Some of the material is about Dorothy Bercu Gross who had been a Vaudville dancer and then was a fitness instructor. Her husband was a physician.

Scope and Contents

Four folders with ephemera, a cartoon, drawing, and newspaper article; two envelopes with small photographs from the 1940s and 1950s that were stored in a box addressed to Dr. Gross in Lake City Utah; two black and white photographs of Dorothy Bercu Gross; a photograph of a Jewish boy on metel; bean bag made of suade with red pepper image and the words "Anaheim Red;" advertisements for Persantine dipyidamole medicine consisting of four small placques with images from the 1400s to the 1700s; a newspaper article on Dorothy Gross's exercise class; Dorothy Gross' "Figure Magic" LP records with music for exercising; and two Lp records of the Boston Symphony Orchestra produced by the Overseas Branch of Office of War Information and distributed to the Army Air Force during World War II.
