Abstract
Leslie Friedman Davis (1922-2007), granddaughter of Leopold H. Guldman (of the Golden Eagle Dry Goods Co.) was a prominent Denver philanthropist and organizer. She was born in Denver, Colorado, attended East High School, and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado. Davis founded the Women's Bank in Denver in 1978. The bank was owned and operated mostly by women, and was created so that women could be self-sufficient and get credit without their husbands. the Women's Bank is still in operation today, and is now called the Colorado Business Bank.
