Abstract
Bertha Eppstein (1838-1912), wife of Max Eppstein, was important to the Denver Jewry for her work in philanthropy and education. She was born in Baden, Germany, and moved to America at the age of 18. Eppstein was the first president of the Hebrew Ladies' Benevolent Association, and very involved in the Jewish religious community.
