Video Interview with Ty Prause on Dale Reed. Copy, 20 1991 December
Abstract
Post-settlement conference interview of Daniel Tyran (Ty) Prause, attorney for a landowner client (and Prause's grandfather) named Schinlder, who SLAPPed Dale Reed for allegedly interfering with an earnest money contract for sale of the property to the Insulation Material Corp. of America (IMCOA). Dale Reed had circulated a flyer and appeared at public meetings to oppose the Corporation's plans for a plastics plant, alleging dangerous conditions at the plant and hazards to public health around it. IMCOA backed out of the sale (which was contingent on approval of all needed permits within 120 days) when the Texas Air Quality Control Board sent their permit application to the public hearing docket due to the opposition, delaying the process up to a year. IMCOA also SLAPPed Reed.
Reed SLAPPed back at both, settling with Prause and Schindler for mutual dismissal just prior to this recorded interview with Prause. The interview covers the history of the transaction, Prause's contact with real estate agents and Andrew B. Sommerman, the attorney for IMCOA, over the course of the contract negotiations, filing and service and SLAPP suits.
