Abstract

Sheet with biography of "Joel Mosko: Physician, Philanthropist, Artist." He was a physician in Denver, Colorado and volunteered at the Jewish Family and Children's Service treating Russian immigrants. He was one of the founders of the Mizel Museum. He sculpted "Romeo and Juliet." Mosko was a banker and member of B'nai B'rith and the Allied Jewish Community Council in Denver. He grew up on Larimer Street and graduated from DU Law School in 1933. With several partners he bought Southwest State Bank in 1967.

Folder contains page on Joel Mosko (1912-1994) - Physician, Philanthropist, Artist. Joel Mosko joined the French Army during WWII and was captured, but managed to escape with his wife, Estelle, and his son to the U.S. He served in the American Army in the Medical Corps. After the war, he and his family moved to Denver, Colorado. He was on staff of Saint Anthony's, Beth Israel and Rose Hospital and also volunteered at the Denver Catholic Orphanage and the Jewish Family and Children's Service. He was also a sculptor and patron of the arts.
