Rabbi Martin M. Weitz, 1958-1989
Abstract
Martin M. Weitz, the son of Joseph and Rosa Weitz (see B111.10.0010.0005) was born in Denver in 1907. He was ordained as a rabbi in 1934 at the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio and went on to earn several more degrees from various institutes of higher education across the country. Martin Weitz was incredibly active in the Jewish population, serving various communities as a spiritual leader, professor, writer, as well as a pioneer in the scholarship of interfaith relations. Dr. Weitz died in California in 1992.
