Box 42: Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries (CARL) Corporation, 1992-1996
Abstract
As of the 1990s, the CARL Corporation was a for-profit spin-off of the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries, and has grown to become a nationwide leader in library automation and information services. It was announced in 1995 that CARL Corporation and The UnCover Company were to be Acquired by Knight-Ridder Information.
This box contains materials about this. There is a folder with memoranda about the acquisition and proposed sale of CARL Corp.'s Common Stock. There are CARL Corporation Financial Statements 1992-1994, Colorado Alliance Budget and financial infromation FY 94-96, materials about the Colorado Alliance royalties, a copy of the CARL software agreement, a bound report on the relationship between CARL and CARL Systems counducted by an outside legal entity, a copy of the bylaws of the CARL nonprofitm and other documents related to CARL. Lastly, there is a bound book of CARL systems restructuring discussions and investigation from 1992.

Scope and Contents
This collection contains materials related to the responsibilities of and created by the University of Denver's Office of Business and Financial Affairs. Their primary role is to oversee the financial management, business operators, and built environment of the University. Thus, materials in this collection mostly cover the following topics: annual reports, real estate, budget, bonds and loans, agreements and contracts, and internal materials. This collection can be added to in the future.
