Nikita Krushchev, in long speeches, attacked the United States and Dag Hammarskjold. Dag Hammarskjold was the secretary general of the United Nations from 1953 until his death in a plane accident. Khrushchev wanted to remove Hammarskjold as secretary general and suggested that the United Nations be ruled by a three person board representing the Western nations, communist nations, and the neutral nations.
