Abstract
This box contains 4 decorative boxes that contained some of Betty Carey's organzied recipe cards (specifically Boxes #12, #13, and #16).
Recipe Card Box #12 is a small, metal, cream and gold-colored box. It is decorated with gold arrows, vines, and what is believed to be a bugle or cone. This box had contained a small collection of handwritten recipe cards (that are now located in Box 6 - M357.02.0006).
Recipe Card Box #13 is a larger, bright yellow recipe card box labeled "Cooking with Mary Metzker." On the side of the box is a graphic of an ornate black fence. This box must have come with the purchase of this set of publsihed recipe cards (that are now located in Box 6 - M357.02.0006).
Recipe Card Box #16 is a medium-sized green recipe card box labeled "Recipe File." On the sides of the recipe box are colorful illustrations of potted flowers in front of a blue and tan background. Additionally, there is still a price tag attatched to the box that indicates that it was purchased at the University Hills Ace Hardward store. This box contained a small number of handwritten and hand-crafted recipe cards (that are now located in Box 6 - M357.02.0006).
The last decorative box is a metal tin with green, red, and yellow illustrations of flowers, strawberry plants, and fruit. This was a deocraitve tin within which Betty Carey kept various business cards, mostly from furniture stores (these cards are located in a folder in Box 2 - M357.01.0002).
