Box 12: Organized Recipe Clippings, between 1985-1995

This box contains newspaper recipe clippings, newspaper article clippings, magazine clippings, newspaper sections, some whole newspapers and whole magazines, and recipe cards, printed recipes, and newsletters. Most of the clippings are about food and recipes, but some also cover topics such as health, fitness, beauty, home, and weddings.

Some of the clippings have marginalia and annotations by Betty Carey which indicate her thoughts on the recipes, possible uses, dates of making them, and other general underlinings. Some of the annotations made by Betty Carey indicate to which family member she wanted to share the clipping with, possibly for reasons of their businesses like Town and Country Fine Foods and the Larimer Restaurant and Oyster Bar.

Most of these items were collected by Betty Carey and organized into different bags and folders in which they were stored. Some of the items in this box were found loose within the collection and Betty Carey's. Folders have been labeled to indicate whether the items within were originally stored together with purpose or found loose.
