Abstract

This subseries contains boxes that document the abstracts titles, land information, lease agreements, and other correspondence related to various properties that are owned by the University of Denver. This subseries also includes the documentation of leasing agreements between the University of Denver and outside entities.

Major property groups that are captured in this subseries include Iliff School of Theology, Fraternity Subdivisions, the University Park Amended Map Blocks 1-61, Observatory Park, Simpson Grove, West University Park, Reser's Subdivision, Evanston Addition Third Filing, East Denver, and Evans Addition. Smaller, individual properties are found in Boxes 16-17 and are labeled individually in the Box abstracts as well as in the folder-level titles. Properties outside of Denver are divided into folders based on which county they reside in; these properties can be found in Boxes 17-18.

This series contains materials related to the University of Denver and its real estate property, interests, ownership, and investments. This series could be added to in the future.

Arrangement

The real estate materials in this subseries used to be housed in the U184 DU Real Estate Collection. Now this box and other materials have been merged into the U113 DU Business and Financial Affairs Collection as the Office of Business and Financial Affairs typically oversees DU real estate and property purchasing as well as Facilities Management & Planning.

This subseries is divided into boxes based on the original organization of the boxes in their previous collection. It appears that the first couple of boxes are about the University Park land, next is the Evanston Addition Third Filing, followed by East Denver, then Evans Addition, and finally the rest of the subseries is composed of various real estate properties owned by the University of Denver.
