Box 28: Real Estate Investments, 1998-1999
Abstract
This box contains materials realted to the University of Denver and the Botanic Investment Company. Through the materials in this box, it appears that the University of Denver acquires some shares of the company through the estate of Ruth Stewart Byron and contracts that occured afterwards. Many of the documents in this box are communications between the University (Craig Woody and Scott Lumpkin) and Betty Byron Suhrie (who is believed to have worked for the Botanic Investment Company). This box includes closing documents for various properties from which it is believed DU acquired at least partial funds. Properties sold include 1441 Humboldt Street, 1201 Race Street, 66 Pearl Street, 33 Corona Street, and the Patio Plaza Property (1865-95 Eaton Street and 1910 Fenton Street).

Arrangement
This box and other real estate materials used to be housed in the U184 DU Real Estate Collection. Now this box and other materials have been merged into the U113 DU Business and Financial Affairs Collection as the Office of Business and Financial Affairs typically oversees DU real estate and property purchasing as well as Facilities Management & Planning.
