Abstract

A typed transcription of a letter sent by Morse Coffin to the publication "The Colorado Sun" on November 29, 1878 and published therein on December 14, 1878. The letter describes Coffin's experience in the 3rd Colorado Volunteer Cavalry in the fall of 1864, in particular the events of the Sand Creek Massacre in which he participated in, and his opinion on said event. The transcription has been altered from the original to correct punctuation, grammar, and to change when individuals are referred to by initial to their full name.
