Chest Piece of Fleischer Stethoscope, between 1924-1952
Abstract
Chest piece and rubber tube of a Fleischer stethoscope used by Dr. Arthur L. Esserman, a pediatrician in Denver, Colorado. The chest piece is silver-plated metal with the front covered by black plastic. The stethoscope was designed by Andrew W. ''Doc'' Fleischer and manufactured by the Becton-Dickinson company. Dr. Arthur L. Esserman (born 1898) was an intern at Children's Hospital in Denver from 1924 to 1926 and practiced pediatric medicine from 1926 until his death in 1952.
