Wedding Gown, between 1911-1914
Abstract
The underdress is made from fine pink cotton and has three-quarter length sleeves covered in an ultra-fine silk chiffon. The lace overdress has lace appliqué leaves and flowers, (some have set rhinestones), as well as lace cutwork. A lace covered pinkwaist-cincher is in the center front. A long weighted tassel hangs from a multi-layered peach silk chiffon flower. Most of the lace floral and leaf design is toward the lower edge of the dress. An additional drape of more elaborate lace sweeps up along the sides of the back of the dress and is attached to the waist cincher. Wedding gown of Bessie when she married Ellis Wedgle on March 17, 1914.
