Printed on photograph in small white box on upper right corner or image in black print: 'Reported to be the first engine owned by Colorado and Central, later Colorado and Southern. Picture taken in 1880 on second switchback between Black Hawk and Central City. Line built from Black Hawk to Central City, May 21, 1878. Service discontinued Feb. 15, 1925. Line taken up July 29, 1931. - Robt. Rice - May 1, 1941.'
