Biographical / Historical
"Taps are Talking: Women in Tap" is a production created by Ellie Sciarra. When studying at University of Colorado, Ellie wrote her thesis titled "Women in Tap: Taps are Talking." Through the research for her thesis, Ellie conducted inteviews with past and current female tappers. Ellie created a stage production as the culmination of her work. "Taps are Talking: Women in Tap" was presented in 1999 (Nomad Theater, Boulder, CO), 2002 (Dairy Center for the Arts, Boulder, CO), and 2004 (Lakewood Cultural Arts Center, Lakewood, CO).
