The collection contains materials intentionally assembled by Beck Archives that are associated with Jewish communities in the western United States and Mexico. The material is related to various towns in Colorado, Arizona, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

The Colorado Front Range communities included are Atwood, Boulder, Brandon, Brighton, Colorado Springs, Denver, Fort Collins, Golden Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, Northern Colorado, Pueblo, and Trinidad. The Mountains and Western Slope communities included are Aspen, Central City, Del Norte, Grand Junction, Gunnison County, Lakeside, Leadville, Tin Cup, and Jews of Colorado's Mining Towns.
