Abstract

This collection contains photographs of the Kornfield family, specifically focused on Harry J Kornfield who was a landlord in Denver, Colorado. The Kornfield family consists of Jacob and Dara, parents of Saul Samuel, Mollie, Ephraim (Eph), Bertha, Harry, Matthew, Irving Abram (Babe), and Shirley. Bertha married Nathan Miller and they had a son, Glenn Miller. Irving Abram married Ruth Levy and had a daughter, Donna. Ephraim Kornfield married Mona Rosenbloom. Harry married Sophia (unknown maiden name). Matthew married Rachel (unknown maiden name). Additionally, a Kornfield family member owned "Kornfield's Baggage and Express Moving and Storage," located on York St. There is an emphasis on automobiles in the photographs.

There are a total of one hundred ninety eight (198) photos in the collection of which only thirteen (13) have any description. Utilizing the photos with a description makes it possible to identify the individuals in many other photos.

Biographical / Historical

The photographs in this collection cover the Kornfield family with Jacob and Dara Kornfield being the head of the household. Jacob Kornfield (January 31, 1875 - August 23, 1952) married Dara (1878 - 1972) in an unknown year. They had eight (8) children: Saul Samuel Kornfield (August 8, 1899 - August 4, 1973), Mollie Kornfield (c. 1902 - ?), Ephraim Kornfield (1904 - February 9, 1951), Bertha Ellen Miller (Kornfield) (1906 - June 9, 1973), Harry Jack Kornfield (January 27, 1907 - October 28, 1993), Matthew Kornfield (1911 - August 28, 1979), Irving Abram Kornfield (Babe) (July 4, 1913 - May 14, 2006), and Shirley Eva Kornfield (June 20, 1923 - June 1, 1989). Bertha married Nathan Miller on July 24, 1937 and they cared for her child from a previous marriage, Glenn Miller. Irving Abram Kornfield married Ruth Levy (Kornfield) and they had a daughter, Donna Kornfield. Ephraim Kornfield married Mona Kornfield. Harry Kornfield married Sophia Kornfield. And Matthew Kornfield married Rachel Kornfield.
