Alexander Kagan was born in Paris, France in 1906 to Russian parents. At the age of 14, Alexander Kagan began work as a fabric designer and also as a designer of jewelry. His mother Chana (Anna) Kagan, his brother Haim Persah (Paul) and he came to the United States in 1922. He became a citizen in 1930 and was a fabric designer in New York. In 1942 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1954 and died in the Denver area in 1994. Collection contains household goods, scrapbooks, photographs, art, correspondence, papers, "writers" from World War II and documents related to Kagan Family. Includes a drawing of Mary Reed Library by Alexander Kagan from 1948.
