Abstract Morris Adelstein was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 2, 1894. His parents had immigrated from Russia and settled in Des Moines, Iowa. His mother Bailey Adelstein Martinsky homesteaded land in South Dakota in 1910 and moved with her youngest daughters to Kadoka, South Dakota. Morris Adelstein graduated from Highland Park College in Des Moines with a degree in englineering. Morris Eber Papers

Abstract

Morris Eber was born in 1879 and immigrated from Russia in 1892. He married Ida and they had two children, Bessie and Helen. He lived in Denver, owned Eber’s Grocery Store and worked in Real Estate. One framed certificate stating that Morris Eber is hereby a citizen of the United States. The certificate is issued by the District Court of the second judicial district, County of Arapahoe, State of Colorado. Stamped October 13, 1900.

Morris Krupp Objects and Papers

Abstract Morris Krupp, born in Leckava, Lithuania on February 10 1887 and died in Colordo on January 21, 1987. He left home at the age of 14 and immigrated to the United states. When he first came to Colorado he broke horses and was a cattle buyer. Later he established a cattle ranch. His wife Goldie was born in 1889 in Russia and died in Colorado on November 28, 1961. Mortar Board Society (Kedros Chapter) Records

Abstract

Collection contains the records of the Kedros chapter of Mortar Board Society at the University of Denver, including the records of the active student chapter as well as the Denver alumnae group affiliated with that chapter. Mortar Board is an honorary society for college seniors and was the first national honor society for college senior women. Before the DU organization became a chapter of Mortar Board, it was known on campus as Kedros, honorary society for women.

Abstract

Moses (Moe) Katz was born in Denver, Colorado, in 1899. He grew up in Denver and was educated at West Denver High School, the University of Denver, and the University of Illinois. He founded the Chemical Sales Company with H. Fine in 1927. Katz was also involved in the Allied Jewish Federation of Denver and became its president in 1956. This collection includes a small number of items related to Moses Katz' education in chemistry as well as his career in the chemistry field.

Abstract Shul Baer Milstein arrived in Denver in 1884. He was the impetus behind the Jewish agricultural colony at Cotopaxi, Colorado. Nettie Milstein, daughter of Shul Milstein, married her first cousin Jacob Muhlstein in Central City, Colorado. The couple homested near Longmont, Colorado and then farmed near Broomfield, Colorado where they lived for years without running water or indoor plumbing for their family of nine children.
