Abstract Alexander Kagan was born in Paris, France in 1906 to Russian parents. At the age of 14, Alexander began work as a fabric and jewelry designer. He came to the United States in 1922 with his mother Chana (Anna) and his brother Haim Persah (Paul). He worked as a fabric designer in New York and in 1930 he became a US citizen. In 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1954 and died in the Denver area in 1994....

Abstract Marianne Pisko Hausmann (1880-1969) was born in Vienna, Austria and studied at the Academy of the Austrian Museum of Art and Industry in Vienna. She moved to Denver in 1939 to join her daughter Margaret Grieg, an ophthamologist who had settled in Denver in 1938. Marianne was the niece of Denver Jewish pioneer Edward Pisko, who was elected a Colorado Territorial Representative in 1875. Abstract Samuel Weil served as the rabbi of Congregation Emanuel in Denver, Colorado, in 1876-1877. He was only appointed under a 1 year contract and was granted a 6 month extension in March 1877. However, he was relieved of his duties due to "inadequacies" and remarks he made on June 1st which the board did not "countenance." The Weil family left Denver in December of 1877 after it was learned that the Rabbi had written to a Reverend in the Presbyterian Church proclaiming his belief in Jesus...
