Box also contains plaque from display case in which the vest used to be housed with the inscription "original chancellor's red vest bequeathed by Henry Augustus Buchtel Chancellor 1899 to 1920" There are several photos of chancellor Alter wearing this vest during his time as chancellor.

Overview

The Buchtel Family Scrapbook contains photographs of scenery as well as family pictures. The Scrapbook features the family of Frost Craft Buchtel, son of Henry Agustus Buchtel who was Governor of Colorado and Chancellor of the University of Denver. Frost Buchtel was married to Margaret Waugh (1881-1976) whose photo appears in the scrapbook together with her mother and several of her children, including Barbara, Johnnie and Henry Augustus Buchtel III.
