Memorandum to the files from Chancellor Mitchell telling of a call from the White House and Chancellor Harper concerning campus unrest and what to do about it.

Memorandum from Political Science Department about press report that the department had voted to censure Mitchell. Attached is a note from Mitchell to Public Relations indicating this was an example of inaccurate press coverage.

Memorandum on Mitchell's remarks to 350 businessmen at an Englewood Chamber of Commerce meeting, written to the Faculty of the Department of Psychology by J. Horn.

Memorandum stating that wearing caps and gowns at graduation was optional and indicating that two alternative funds were available for students to contribute their cap and gown money.

Memorandum to Bruce Gardner, Department of Psychology from Chancellor Maurice B. Mitchell. Mitchell says he will not comment on the survey circulating, but does not feel it is professional or unbiased and suggests that it will be an embarrassment to the department.

Memorandum from A. G. Thurman to faculty and students announcing a meeting of the Civil Engineering Program participants. He states that although few civil engineering students have been involved in Woodstock West, they should discuss how their program meets the criteria of relevancy and flexibility advocated by the student strikers. He has set a meeting on Friday from 1 to 3 pm and ends with the comment ''Lets rap!''.

Memorandum to Clarion Editor Chip Berlet from W. Ed Mansfield on the Subject of Steve Kady, KLZ Incident. Certain questions had been put to the Chancellor about the press and Woodstock West. This memorandum gives the Chancellor's replies.

Memorandum from George W. Shepherd, Jr. of GSIS. He discusses Kent State, the problem of too many blacks being sent to Vietnam, and how to deal with campus protests without resorting to violence. He states that in general, campuses where protests were met with understanding and sympathy there was no violence. Hardline responses were not effective.

Memorandum outlining a meeting of the Arts and Sciences Faculty Committee and Dean's Advisory Committee which set out questions for discussion on the response to the student strike.

Memorandum to faculty of the History Department from Chairman Allen D. Breck on the subject of recapitulation of May days 1970. Breck says that a number of faculty have expressed interest in writing a history of the events of Woodstock and gives a general outline.
