Boris Schatz , March 25, 1932
Born in Varniai, Russa in 1866, professor Boris Schatz was the founder and director of Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts in Palestine and a noted artist, serving as the king of Bulgaria's court painter and sculptor over the turn of the century. He died on March 23, 1932 at the Beth Israel hospital in Denver while fundraising for the school in the United States and was buried in Jerusalem.
