The Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) at the University of Denver (DU) was founded on 18 February 2011. It is a student organization by, for, and about graduate and professional students at DU who identiffy as Black and/or African American. Established in 2012, the Sistah Network provides women who identify as Black, in graduate programs across the University of Denver, opportunities for academic and professional development. To do this work well, the Sistah Network also promotes and facilitates the psychological, social, and emotional success of Black women in graduate programs.
