Abstract

A female patient laying on a bed while her right hand and wrist and are held by an unidentified woman. This photograph was taken at the American Medical Center, formerly known as the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish working men along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. It was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside of Denver.

A technician prepping a patient for x-rays at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). Abstract

This is a bound "Visitors' Register" ledger book of the visitors that came to see patients at the Jewish Consumptives Relief Society (JCRS) hospital. The book lists visitors' information, including the date, their name, street address, and city. The register starts in January of 1930 and ends in March of 1964. The names of patients that the visitors were there to see is not included in the ledger. This JCRS visitor register is a large, bound book.
