Born in Denver, Colorado, Alicia Bailey received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Ms. Bailey is a studio and book artist and the owner of Abecedarian Gallery in Denver, CO. This collection contains project models, artist's proofs, plans, prototypes, notes, samples, worksheets, image descriptions, and various other materials related to the production of books published by Bailey.

Abstract

Babi Yar Park in Denver, Colorado was dedicated on October 2, 1983 to memorialize the September 1941 massacre of the Jews that remained in the Ukrainian city of Kiev, at a ravine called Babi Yar. The Babi Yar Park Foundation was formed under the leadership of Helen Ginsburg. Collection contains minutes, administrative papers, correspondence, reports, scrapbooks, news clippings, photos, public relations materials and architectural drawings from the Babi Yar Park between 1969-2015.

Dr. Bob Pliny, creator of the artist book "Oh Come Celebrate the Sacred Soil!", donated his rough drafts, outlines, and notebook he used during the creation of this book. His letter of explanation, included in the collection, says "I am not a poet; I am simply using the language of wonder and delight to express my ideas."

Abstract Ernst Heinrich Loewenstein [Henry Lowenstein] was born in Berlin, Germany in 1925 to a Jewish father and a non-Jewish mother. To escape Nazi brutality, he was sent on the Kindertransport to England in 1939.
