Collection contains family documents and material objects related to the Loeb Family. Many of these items relate directly to the Holocaust and WWII. Important items include German passports and IDs, documents relating firsthand accounts of WWII and the Holocaust, photographs from before, during, and after the war, including photographs of Ernest Loeb as a US soldier in Germany, Ernest Loeb's Bronze Star Medal, scrapbooks, early German school report cards, and Jewish books of scripture.

Abstract Samuel and his wife Lillie Rice Marchick were born in Ostrovo, Poland. Relatives brought Samuel Marchick to Denver, Colorado in 1904. In 1908, he sent for his wife and three sons. Three daughters were born in Denver. The family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming and opened a clothing store and pawn shop. Samuel Marchick bought and opened the Tivoli building. Max Zall, 1993-2003

Abstract

The son of Russian Immigrants, Leah and Herman Zall, Max Zall was born in Denver on March 12, 1901. He earned his law degree from the University of Denver in 1922 and continued working as a lawyer until his death in 1983, winning himself the title of longest-serving City Attorney for the City and County of Denver as well as first Jewish City Attorney. He was named one of the six Outstanding Lawyers in Colorado History by "The Colorado Lawyer" in 1993.

Mendelsberg and Tempelhof Family Papers

Abstract Both Hil and Ida Hecht Tempelhof were natives of Constantine, Poland. They were married in Constantine in 1919. Hil Tempelhof began his long immigration journey while Ida remained with her parents in Poland. It was seven years before the couple was reunited in Juarez, Mexico.
