Mendel immigrated from Lithuania and married Koona Hindel Levy, sister of Rebbitzin Hillkowitz. The Levy family moved to Denver from Cincinnati around the turn of the century. They had four (4) children; Eli, Etta, Martha, and Julius. None married. Julius died at about 12 years old. Occupations: Eli - jewelry salesman; Etta - stenographer; Martha - librarian. The Levy parents and Etta, Martha, and Julius are buried in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Denver. Eli, who moved to California, is buried in Los Angeles.
