Monica, circa 1939
Monica sits on a park bench holding the front paws of a dachshund that is sitting on the ground. She moved in with the Loewenstein family after her Jewish mother died as her father was a Nazi. Monica later committed suicide.
Nicholas Winton, The Power of Good, 2006
Video details the life and rescue mission of Nicholas Winton in 1938. Video includes additional information about some of the Jewish children he saved from Nazi violence. Includes a teachers' guide with extra archival materials and discussion questions.
Nine Jewish Faces, c. 1960 - 1979
This painting is titled Nine Jewish Faces. It is a black, dry brush, watercolor on paper. It measures approximately 24" x 18". In line with his other paintings, Veston did not date the painting, though it can be assumed that it was created while living in Albuquerque--between 1955 and 1980.
