Medical Staff of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society, circa 1951
Four male medical staff members of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS), seated around a table. On the wall behind them there are several sets of chest x-rays. The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. The sanatorium was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside of Denver.

During the 1993 festival season as Larry / Matt in 'The Face on the Barroom Floor,'as Remendado in 'Carmen,' and also as Emile le Flamme in the production of 'Rose-Marie.'
Mela Lindsay for Colorado Reflections
Mela Lindsay (Amelia Meisner Lindsay) was born in Russia and immigrated to the United States in 1905. She discusses her family's journey across the world. Her family moved to Kansas and she moved to Colorado in 1927 after getting married. Mela Lindsay discusses her memories of the landscape of Denver in the 1920s, living through the Great Depression, and being married to a Denver police officer. Lindsay also discusses her books: "The White Lamb" and "A Window into the Iron Curtain."
