Rikewoller was born in 1907 in Germany. He escaped Nazi Germany around 1938. In 1957 he became a naturalized U.S. citizen in Denver.

Marvin Feinsmith is a Denver composer and bassoonist who has worked with a number of notable orchestras, including the Denver Symphony Orchestra. Feinsmith, originally from New York City, graduated Yeshiva Rabbi Israel Salanter of the Bronx, and went on to earn a Masters Degree from the Julliard and Manhattan Schools of Music.
